The Meadows offers award-winning services and care

Dr. Warren Bathke and his wife, Gladys, had a vision for a residential community to care for and honor the "Greatest Generation" for 15 years before it came to fruition with a grand opening held Sept. 9, 2007. The Meadows, a Level II, family-owned and operated Assisted Living Community, offers premier retirement living in beautiful Bentonville. With handicap accessibility throughout the 64 comfortable apartments, The Meadows is an award-winning 3 story community available to anyone 55 years and older.

The Meadows is committed to providing the best possible care. Staff members go through in-depth training programs developed by the Institute for Professional Care Education to ensure that they provide quality training for quality care. "The Institute for Professional Care Education has hundreds of courses from which to pick to help educate our staff," stated Administrator Ann Standley. "We believe a well-educated staff is much better prepared to care well for our residents." The staff also has the option to get additional certificates on their own to continue their education through IPCEd. "This keeps them happy and allows for their growth," noted Standley.

Monthly rent includes many services for Independent, Assisted Living, and Memory Care Residents. Some of the services offered by The Meadows include:

• Three meals daily and reminders for meals and activities.

• Nursing staff in the building 24 hours a day.

• Weekly housekeeping.

• Weekly linen and towel laundry service.

• Utilities and basic television service (except telephone).

• Variety of planned social activities.

• Transportation coordination.

• Daily apartment upkeep and bed making.

• Assistance with whirlpool bathing or shower.

• Personal laundry service.

• Daily assistance with personal hygiene or dressing.

• Manageable incontinence assistance.

• Health maintenance support.

The Meadows also has a licensed Alzheimer's Special Care Unit. Memory care is located in a secure, home-like space with private bedroom/bathroom suites connected to a kitchen, dining room, activity area, and family room. It is staffed by caring personnel who understand and are specifically trained to meet the unique needs of memory-impaired residents and their families.

With the exceptional services offered, it's no surprise that The Meadows has either won or been a finalist in the Best of the Best of Northwest Arkansas for the last four years. This contest is made up of readers of the Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. The Meadows delivers on their mission of "Our family caring for your family with Honor, Dignity, and Respect!"

The Meadows is located at 2300 SE 28th St., in Bentonville. More information may be found online at www.themeadowsinbentonville.com, or by calling (479) 273-9969.
