Q & A with Jennifer Welch, President, Northwest Arkansas Board of Realtors

Q: What makes Northwest Arkansas a unique real estate market?

A: NWA has had phenomenal growth in the last several years, that growth has provided homes to be available to buyers in a multitude of differing price ranges.

Q: How do you see the growth of Northwest Arkansas impacting the real estate market here?

A: The growth has had a positive impact on our market. It has helped property owners to see a quick growth in their equity, provided employment for those in the construction industry, and helped both the smaller and larger towns prosper as new businesses have opened.

Q: How do you think the market compares in terms of value to other similar markets?

A: We are still an affordable area, even with the amount of growth we have recently experienced. We have a very vast and broad market area due to having many smaller bedroom communities surrounding our larger cities. These areas help buyers to have valuable options available.

Q: What is your advice for folks in the market for their first home in the area, those who are relocating here or looking to upgrade their home?

A: Research the areas and choose the one that most appeals to you and your family’s interests. We have so much to choose from that no matter where they decide on in NWA, there is always something to do within a short driving distance. Then, choose a REALTOR® who is knowledgeable to help you and guide you through the process. It can be a stressful time, but couple the experience with someone you trust and it will be a great experience where likely you’ll end up with a lifelong friendship along with a beautiful new home!
