On The Mark Sports Bar and Grill is a sports fan’s paradise

On The Mark Sports Bar & Grill recently received a Bronze award for Best Sports Bar in the 2020 Best of Northwest Arkansas contest. But anyone who has ever spent time in this sports fan’s paradise knows the award, if anything, is an understatement. On The Mark Sports Bar could very well be the best sports bar in the country!

20 years, on the mark

“The bar has been open for 20 years and before that it was Coaches,” said Kim Martin, Manager of On The Mark. “But the current owners have had it for about eight years. We have a lot of athlete personalities as customers who have gone on to play professionally.” And everyone who comes in to On The Mark is treated like family, which explains why they have such a loyal, steady stream of regulars.

Sports, sports and more sports

This treasured Northwest Arkansas establishment begins, of course, with the sports. And they’ve got it all covered. “We have pool tables and pool leagues, shuffleboard,” Kim began. “We hold monthly and weekly tournaments for the Northwest Arkansas Foosball league. We have 12 professionally lit dart boards and a dart league that plays out of the bar.”

And if you’ve come to the bar as a sports spectator, they offer 30 hi-definition TVs where you can watch up to eight different sporting events. You can go Hog Wild with all of the Arkansas Razorbacks’ football, basketball and baseball games. Streaming live via computer they have NCAA games, ESPN Game Plan, NFL Sunday Ticket, MLB Extra innings, NBA, UFC and Strikeforce… all of the sports available on the cable networks are yours to enjoy with friends, great food and your favorite brew.

Relax with a drink in your hand

And speaking of brews, they have 14 different beers on tap, both domestic and imports. There are also daily drink specials. “We would be surprised if we couldn't make your favorite cocktail, or introduce you to your next favorite drink,” Kim said. “Our talented On The Mark bartenders are sure to impress.”

The On The Mark philosophy is: ‘we all need a place to relax after work, so why not do it with a drink in your hand?’

Come hungry

And to accompany their great selection of brews and bar drinks is a killer bar menu with lots of delicious appetizers like Southwest egg rolls, fresh battered onion rings, cheese sticks, quesadillas and nachos. All of the burgers are fresh, never frozen, and the wings are legendary. “People love our food,” Kim said. “Some people come in just for the wings. Some come in at happy hour and then take some wings home to their spouse. During game weekends we will do something special like a smoked bologna sandwich or pulled pork.”

Throughout the week they have food specials that are a crowd draw in themselves. “Friday is our Catfish Special Day, and our catfish is amazing, everybody loves it,” Kim said. “We have Wet Burrito Wednesdays and we have people who come in just for that. We are going to be changing the menu up for the summer and adding some new items.”

Friendly atmosphere

The neighborhood bar atmosphere will make even a newcomer feel right at home. They also have a wonderful patio that is dog friendly. On April 10 they officially opened the patio for the summer. The festivities included a live band and crawfish broil.

“We are not exactly on the beaten path,” Kim noted. “We are kind of hidden away between Gregg and College. We are a private sports bar which means you have to be 21 or over to get in and we are a smoking establishment. I think all of these things help make us special and have kept us so popular for so many years. It’s just a great place to hang out and have drinks and enjoy friends.”

Kim has been working at On The Mark for five years. “I just love working here because it is like my family,” Kim said. “Everybody hangs out and knows each other. It’s my home away from home. When I get off work I just sit down and hang out because I am with friends.”

Add to everything else no cover charge and free parking and you have every reason to check out On The Mark Sports Bar and see this award-winning Northwest Arkansas favorite for yourself.
