Cedar Lodge, a spectacular resort in Bella Vista

Nestled on the banks of Bella Vista’s largest lake, Loch Lomond, is an expansive property known as Cedar Lodge. This luxury vacation rental is the perfect venue offering a peaceful getaway for family vacations or reunions, corporate meetings and retreats, weddings, events, mountain bikers, golf enthusiasts, and so much more.

“It’s a great place for family reunions and weddings,” said Linda Swalve who, with her husband, Richard, owns the 7,600-square foot resort. “We have repeat guests constantly. Most people who stay once book for the following year.”

When you first walk in, you know this place is different. You are welcomed by an amazing collection of rustic decor, antiques and collectibles, the careful attention to detail, and the comfort afforded in every living area and outdoor space. What makes Cedar Lodge unique, I think, is the atmosphere,” Linda said. “There is so much to look at. We have a three-night minimum stay and you really need three days to just to see everything. Even when people come back again they see things they didn’t see before.”

Cedar Lodge offers seven bedrooms with five full baths, 1 shower only room and two powder rooms. It has an indoor sauna and outdoor jacuzzi. A large cabana with a full size refrigerator, fire place, outdoor tv and fire pit for roasting marshmallows. And you haven’t even made it down to the shoreline yet where you will find a large dock with canoes, kayaks and paddle boats, plenty of water lily pads to float on are available plus a water slide. They also have boat rentals for guests who are staying at the house.

“We actually own four other vacation rentals,” Linda said. “It works out well because one of our properties is one door down from Cedar Lodge. We often rent the two together for weddings or family reunions. And we also own two resorts directly across the lake from Cedar Lodge. We have a lot of flexibility and availability if Cedar Lodge is booked or too big for their needs.” The Swalves also own a fifth vacation rental in Noel, MO on the Elk River.

Linda and Richard purchased the property in October 2020 from Dave and Sandy Berry, who, with plans to retire, approached the Swalves and asked if they’d like to buy it. The Swalves own a construction business, Swalve Enterprises LLC, and remodel hospitals, so with their experience in maintenance and construction, they felt they were an ideal fit.

Of course if you really want to learn how amazing Cedar Lodge is, you need to hear from the folks who have stayed there. Here is just a sample of the 5-star ratings this resort has garnered.

“Absolutely beautiful! The lodge is a multi level log cabin and the interior is top notch. It has several bedrooms and can accommodate a large group or family. The lake side landscaping has multiple decks, a fire pit and covered sitting areas. It has a private dock on the lake and comes equipped with canoes for your use. It's great for weekend getaways, family reunions, etc...” - Chuck B.

“It is truly hard to find the words to describe how absolutely incredible this house is! There isn’t anything I would change! This was the best vacation spot with my family. Plenty (I mean PLENTY) of space for everyone, plenty of stuff to do for everyone, (kids didn’t even remember what screen time was) beautiful water, comfortable beds, amazing showers, plenty of outdoor spots to relax and enjoy the view, etc. we will DEFINITELY be repeat customers. Everything was super clean and organized and I could just go on and on! Thank you for our wonderful stay! -the Johnson’s, the Harris’s, the McDaniels, and the Bossert’s! We WILL BE BACK!” - Jenifer H.

“This lodge is beautiful and had everything we needed and more. There is so much to do there, also a beautiful view! The owner is super nice as well. Very thankful we got to stay there with our family of 12.” - Mary D.

We have reservations into 2025,” Linda said. “But check our website for availabilities. We would love to have you!”
